An Open Letter to ZipCar

Dear Zipcar,

You guys have really outdone yourselves.  The past 4 experiences with Zipcar has been HORRIBLE and tonight was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

I was traveling and disputing my last charge, which I was rebilled for.  Prior to that, your website showed locations that didn’t exist and I was offered a car which had a flat tire, only to find out that there was no other car available.  But tonight was the tops.  I had logged in to book a car, counting on Zipcar to have one available when I found out that my account was suspended.  I was never told prior to the point that I needed a car that my account was suspended.  You know what that means?  It means I can’t get to my family during the one special holiday of the year while my father has cancer.

I’ll never depend on you again Zipcar.

Sheesh, that is pretty harsh not to warn you BEFORE your account is suspended. I’ve never heard of zipcar before but I wouldn’t use any service that treats their customers like that.

Hope you managed to find a way home.

    新年好

ugh, the worst thing about it is that they used to be AWESOME.

  3. Wow! Good to know. I always doubted about their business model when I lived in Toronto, thought it was a very labour intensive business when they don’t have the resources to keep things going. I heard so much bad things about them already through my friends.

I’ve never actually tried their service for a stupid reason, I don’t like their logo on the body of the rented cars. :)

  4. I guess I should hold onto my car longer instead of signing up for ZipCar (or whatever we have in Jersey City).

Interesting… Meanwhile, my Zipcar membership was suspended because some douche at what I thought was a full-service gas station scammed $185 from the gas card. Of course, Zipcar told me the burden of proof lies with me, since they called the gas station and were told it is self-service, so now I have absolutely now way whatsoever of getting to my client appointments in the tri-state for work….and no recourse to prove my innocence. This after giving them repeated, costly business since early 2009. Thanks a bunch.
